Reverberaciones: Arte y sonido en las colecciones del MUAC propone una lectura de los acervos artístico, documental y colecciones asociadas en la que lo audible es el elemento que la articula. La muestra se estructura a partir de una multiplicidad de miradas y soportes que invitan a repensar las fronteras del arte y tiene como propósito argumentar la importancia del sonido en las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas, centrándose en la escena mexicana.
La exposición incluye esculturas que devienen en instrumentos, instalaciones sonoras, apropiaciones de instrumentos musicales como objetos artísticos o trabajos en los que el sonido se formula a través del lenguaje ya como código o en forma de voz que enuncia la memoria o la denuncia social y política. El universo auditivo incluye las dimensiones del ruido y el silencio, esta última representada en obras bidimensionales como óleos, dibujos y fotografías, medios silentes de expresión audible que, a manera de homenaje evocan, sobretodo, a la música.

Reverberaciones: Arte y sonido en las colecciones del MUAC offers an interpretation of the museum’s artistic, documentary, and associated collections, where sound becomes the central element of articulation. The exhibition is structured through a multiplicity of perspectives and media that invite a rethinking of the boundaries of art, aiming to highlight the importance of sound in contemporary artistic practices, with a particular focus on the Mexican scene.
The exhibition includes sculptures that transform into instruments, sound installations, appropriations of musical instruments as artistic objects, and works where sound is formulated through language—either as a code or as a voice that enunciates memory, social critique, or political protest. This auditory universe encompasses both noise and silence, the latter represented in two-dimensional works such as oil paintings, drawings, and photographs—silent mediums of audible expression that, as a tribute, evoke music above all.
