En 1995, la Fundación BBVA Bancomer creó el Salón de ArteBancomer con el propósito de promover el trabajo de artistas mexicanos y extranjeros residentes en México. Durante sus 10 años de existencia, este evento anual exhibió la obra de más de 300 artistas emergentes, en colaboración con el Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), que comenzó a participar a partir de la sexta edición. Siete años después de la última exposición, esta publicación recupera a 39 de los artistas que formaron parte del Salón Bancomer y que han sido participantes activos en el programa de exposiciones del MAM en los últimos cinco años. El libro documenta las estrategias artísticas, procesos y producción de estos artistas, presentando obras y series de reciente creación, e incluye textos críticos del equipo curatorial del museo.

In 1995 the Fundación BBVA Bancomer created the Salón de Arte Bancomer with the purpose of promoting the work of Mexican and foreign artists living in Mexico. The yearly event exhibited throughout its 10-year existence the artwork of more than300 emerging artists with a trajectory involving the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) who started exhibiting their work from the sixth edition. Seven years after the last exhibition, this publicationrescues 39 of the artists who were part of the Salón Bancomer and have been activeparticipants in the exhibitions program of the MAM in the last 5 years. The book documents theartistic strategies, processes and production of these artists with works and series of recentproduction and includes critical texts by the curatorial staff of the museum.
